B | Some verbs tin exist followed past -ing or to ... with a difference of meaning: recall I remember doing something= I did it and now I retrieve this. Yous remember doing something subsequently you have done it. · I know I locked the door. I clearly think locking it. (=I locked information technology, and now I remember this) · He could think driving along the route only before the accident, only he couldn't remember the accident itself. | I remembered to do something= I remembered that I had to do it, and then I did it. Y'all remember to do something before you exercise it. · I remembered to lock the door, only I forgot to close the windows. (= I remembered that I had to lock it, and and so I locked information technology) · I must remember to pay the electricity bill. (= I must non forget to pay it) | regret I regret doing something= I did it and now I'm lamentable about it: · I now regret saying what I said. C | The post-obit verbs can be followed by -ing or to .. . with no difference of significant: begin | commencement | go along | intend | bother | So y'all can say: · It started raining . or It started to rain . · Andy intends buying a house. or Andy intends to buy ... · Don't bother locking the door. or Don't carp to lock ... But usually we exercise non use -ing later -ing : · It'south starting to rain . (non it's starting raining) |
